Mission Convictions

  1. Multiplying the Church

Because God has clearly revealed His heart for church multiplication, we desire to participate in God’s plan to multiply churches (Hab. 2:14; Mt. 28:19-20; Acts 2:41,47; 6:7; 9:31; Eph. 4:11-12; 2 Tim. 2:2; Romans 15:20, .

God calls his people to spread the Gospel, make disciples, plant churches, and see His Kingdom expand. The New Testament church grew rapidly because of obedience to Jesus’ command, reliance on the Holy Spirit, and a commitment to raising new leaders. Today, we believe the mission continues: believers are called to take the Gospel to every nation, making disciples who make disciples. We believe the local church is God’s primary tool for church multiplication and serves as the foundation for discipleship, leadership, development, sending missionaries, and planning new churches.

2. Reaching the Unreached

From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals His desire for the Gospel to reach those who have never heard. As a local church, we desire to participate in God’s plan for all nations and all people to know him (Genesis 12:1-3; Habakkuk 2:14; Acts 2:1-7; Revelation 7:9-10).

The theme of God’s heart for all nations runs from the beginning to the end of the Bible.F/C desires to pray, train, send, and financially support local and global missions that prioritize evangelism and the unreached.

3. In the City, For the City

From the very beginning of F/C, we have believed God has uniquely called us to Jackson, MS, and we often say we are “In the city, For the city,” recognizing the opportunity we have to “love our neighbor”. Our heart is to follow Jesus to love our neighbors by prioritizing reaching the lost, caring for the needy, and being a light in urban areas (Mark 12:30-3; Luke 10:25-37; James 2:15-17)

4. Protecting Children

God’s heart for protecting vulnerable children is seen through Scripture. He is a Father to the fatherless, and we believe our role, as a local church, is to care for, protect, and advocate for children in need (Deut. 6:6-7; 10:18; 24:19-21; Psalm 82:3-4; Proverbs 22:6; Mt. 18:5-6; James 1:27.

God deeply cares for children, especially orphans, the abused, and the neglected. We believe and support foster care, adoption, and orphan care ministries that provide stable, loving, Christ-centered homes for children.

5. Serving the Forgotten

Because God is always inclined to show compassion to the poor, oppressed, and the forgotten, throughout Scripture, we desire to love the “least of these intentionally” (Psalm 68:5-6; Isaiah 1:17; Debt. 10:18; Mt. 25:34-40; Luke 4:18; Acts 2:44-45; James 1:27; 1 Jn. 3:17)

From Old Testament commands to care for the poor and oppressed to Jesus’ ministry among the outcast, the Bible constantly calls God’s people to serve those in need. We aim to be a church that prioritizes serving the forgotten and marginalized, reflecting God’s heart for justice, mercy, and compassion.
