Every group is different. Please choose the questions that relate best to your group, and don’t feel like you have to get to every question.

Did you grow up in a home where you were taught how to handle money?

What’s been your experience handling money?

If you have children, what are you planning to teach them, to model for them, financially?

Read Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

What about this passage inspires you? What about this passage challenges you?

Read Leviticus 18:1-5

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, I am the LORD your God. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the LORD your God. You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the LORD.

What promise did God make to those who would practice His ways rather than the ways of the atheists in Egypt?

What are your thoughts on the description given of an “economic atheist?”

In this message, Robert pointed out that “inside the fence” is where we find the blessing, feasting, and life.

Describe an experience when you have benefited from choosing to live “inside the fence.”

What are your thoughts on the 10/10/80 plan: Give/Save/Live plan?

Which of the three is (or would be) the hardest for you to accomplish each month?

Read Leviticus 19:9-10,13b

When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

Robert talked about the three groups - The Owner, The Poor, and The Hired Workers

He pointed out that all are called to live within their budget. If you have a budget, what area do you struggle with the most to live within?

If you have followed a plan like 10/10/80, share a story of how God has honored your choices.

Read Malachi 3:10

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

This is the only place in scripture where people are invited to put God to the test and see His blessings.

God promises to bless us if we trust Him in this important area.

Blessings come in different ways and means:

Time (things last longer)

Fruit (increased finances)

Business Opportunities (the phone keeps on ringing)

Umbrella of Protection (safety in the midst of a storm)

Peace (we can sleep at night knowing we’ve been obedient)

Eternal Impact (Philippians 4:1-investing in the lives of others who will believe and commit themselves to Christ)

And more..

In which of the above ways have you been blessed?

Have you ever tested God in the area of your finances? Share what you have learned.

We listed five things that can be done with money:

  1. Spend It

  2. Pay Debt

  3. Pay Taxes

  4. Save It

  5. Give Some Away

What is the usual priority order of your spending?

Read Luke 11:42

But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

What does Jesus say here? Why is it important?

How can tithing because “it’s the law” get in the way of what’s really behind it (realizing that everything belongs to God and that we are entrusted with it temporarily)?
