Juneteenth Film

  • Fondren Church 3327 Old Canton Road Jackson, MS, 39216 United States (map)

Join us on June 14 at 6 in the Fondren Church Community Center for a showing of a documentary about America's newest National Holiday - Juneteenth. We'll be watching Our Daily Bread Ministry’s Full-Feature Documentary (75-minute runtime) Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom.

Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom reflects dynamic truths about faith and freedom, particularly relevant to the African American experience. This film thoughtfully addresses the institution of slavery, the history and aftermath of emancipation, and God's hand of goodness through justice and freedom to the oppressed. The perspective of this documentary is thoroughly Christian as the featured contributors and interviewers are faith leaders, pastors, and historians. It offers an important story for the discouraged and the hopeful, black and white, skeptics and saints.

So, join us as we celebrate the faithful endurance of the oppressed and the freedom given to them by God.
